Dr. Lee gelman
Dr. Lee Gelman has been in practice since 2005. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from SUNY State College of Optometry in 2005, earning a graduate degree in the Doctor of Optometry. He then went on to do his residency specializing in Ocular Pathology at the Newington VA Hospital. Dr. Gelman also has an undergraduate degree in civil engineering from Vanderbilt University, where he also graduated with the honors of Magna Cum Laude.
Aside from performing comprehensive eye exams, which include treating a plethora of ocular diseases he also specializes in all contact lens fits including multifocal, multifocal toric, and gas permeable contact lenses. Dr. Gelman takes pride and is passionate about achieving the best visual acuity possible for each and every single one of his patients.
In addition volunteering in the community during his spare time, Dr. Gelman also enjoys and is compassionate about volunteering his expertise in various eye care missions to provide eye care for those less fortunate in developing countries. He has volunteered his expertise in eye care in rural parts of Jamaica and Peru in eye care missions in the past with non-profit organizations such as VOSH (Volunteering Optometric Services to Humanity).
Dr. BAILEY DeGlopper
Dr. Bailey DeGlopper is a licensed Optometrist who provides full-scope comprehensive eye care and is certified in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease. Dr. DeGlopper received her Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo with a major in Biology and a minor in Psychology. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry as a member of the National Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. DeGlopper is a conscientious and compassionate doctor who continually strives to provide the best possible care to her patients. She has a passion for fitting all types of contact lenses, including multifocal and other specialty lenses. Her practice also includes treatment for dry eye and ocular allergies, as well as co-management of patients seeking LASIK and cataract surgery and being treatment for all manner of ocular pathology. Most importantly, she believes in thorough patient education and collaboration to individualize each treatment plan.
Originally from Western New York, Dr. DeGlopper currently resides in Queens, NY with her fiancé. She enjoys cooking and exercising while at home, but they are always looking to travel to new places together.
Dr. Jessica Wang
Dr. Michelle Mijares
Dr. Michelle Mijares is a licensed Optometrist and is certified in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease. Dr. Mijares received a Bachelor of Science from the University of California Irvine with a major in Developmental and Cellular Biology and a minor in Art History. She holds a Masters of Applied Science in Spatial Analysis from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) at Marshall B. Ketchum University. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and a candidate Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
While at SCCO, she completed internships at the Veterans Affairs Campus West Los Angeles, University Eye Center Los Angles and the John Wesley Community Health Center on Skid Row. Following optometry school, Dr. Mijares completed the Ocular Disease and Primary Care Residency with the Veterans Affairs New York Harbor Healthcare. In addition, Dr. Mijares is currently involved as a Sub-Investigator on several FDA Approved Clinical Trials in the areas of Glaucoma, Dry Eye and Presbyopia Treatment.
She is a member of the New York State Optometric Association (NYSOA), American Academy of Optometry (AAO), Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) and the American Public Health Association(APHA).
Originally from Southern California, Dr. Mijares currently resides in Manhattan, NY. She is an avid traveler, enjoys museums and the performing arts.
